BENAMI TOURS Private Travel Services in Morocco

Information to facilitate your travels between Spain and Morocco

Time difference:

There is a two hour time difference between Spain and Morocco during the summer season and a one hour time difference during the winter season. You will gain time travelling to Morocco.

Ferry Departures:

We recommend taking the regular ferries departing from Algeciras because they run all year regardless of weather conditions. They depart continuously and thus the client does not need to coordinate their travels in Spain so as to arrive for a specific departure .Additionally, the ferries are never sold-out. During the summer season the hydrofoil is often sold-out and during the winter month’s departure is often cancelled due to rough seas. If your client is planning to take the hydrofoil, we suggest that you inform them of the need to have an alternate plan to transfer from Gibraltar to Algeciras and should they not be able to use the hydrofoil.

From Algeciras:

Ferry : takes 2 ½ hour to cross, departure every hour and half starting at 7 am

Hydrofoil: departs Algeciras at 9 a.m., departs Tangier at 3 p.m, 1 hour crossing.

From Cadiz:

Ferry departs Cadiz at 7 am and 5 pm and departs Tangier at 10 am and 8 pm.The crossing takes three hours.

From Gibraltar:

Hydrofoil: Departs daily from Gibraltar at 9 am and from Tangier at 3 pm.Crossing time is one hour0. Same caveat applies to hydrofoil from Gibraltar as it does to that from Algeciras.

Customs/immigration

**NOTE** Coming to Morocco: while on the boat you must get your passport stamped by Moroccan police. There will be a multilingual announcement (usually very difficult to hear) telling you to do this. If you do not hear this, just ask any of the ship’s staff where the immigration agent is. Failure to have your passport stamped will result in extensive delays upon arrival to Tangier.

Returning to Spain: There are no formalities to be observed on board ship.
